R. Region Arrington is the pen name of Richard Region Arrington. Richard was born in March 1964 at the Unicoi County Hospital in Erwin Tennessee. His parents were William B. Arrington and Etta Harrell Arrington. Richard was the youngest child in a family of five boys and two girls. Richard is the Writer/Author of “The Voyage of Billy Buckins.” Please click on this link to the'Works' page to see his books.

Richard has twenty two other published articles and works.His books include” The Vision of the Cat ”and” Tommy Hop the Bunny.” Richard is working on a fourth book "Billy Buckins and the Pirates map." This book from the Billy Buckins series will be out in the spring of 2010.

The Arrington’s were the typical family, his parents loved to travel and Richard spent most of his school years in Myrtle Beach South Carolina and Titusville Florida. This childhood spent along the ocean inspired most of his writings of life on the sea. Richard is from a family of writers, his sister Linda writes under the name Linda D. Harrington and is the Author/Illustrator of “Holly’s Backyard Adventures” Richards mother was also a Writer/Author and wrote “The Man Called Simon” in 1978.

Richard began his actual career in Law Enforcement in January of 1984 when Richard went to work as a State Law Enforcement Officer. He was forced to retire due to an injury in the line of duty and went back to his love of writing full time. Richard lives in East Tennessee with his wife of eighteen years, Kristin Arrington and their two sons.

Every year, Richard reads to the children in our local elementary school as ” The Cat In The Hat.” Please get involved in your local schools. Every school district is in need of volunteers and every moment spent there is a blessing.
