The Reassuring Universe

In the past century revelations in the disciplines of quantum mechanics, the holographic universe, relativity, dark matter, dark energy, and speculations about multiple dimensions, parallel universes, M Theory, and String Theory, have radically altered our understanding of the nature and structure of physical reality.  Their new quantum, relativistic perspectives on existence make the discovery that the world is round look like almost inconsequential in comparison.  Yet these tales of higher dimensional reality and other universes have for the most part not entered the public awareness, much less influenced discussions of meaning of life, purpose of life, meaning of existence, and purpose of existence.  Do quantum mechanics and relativity have anything to say about life, death, soul, spirit, Heaven, hell, God, and eternity? Can science and spirit even peacefully coexist in the same sentence?

Can quantum mechanics, the holographic universe, relativity, dark matter, dark energy, and speculations about multiple dimensions, parallel universes, M Theory, and String Theory possibly prove to be a source of reassurance for facing real life? 

Well, truth be known, you, and all of us, have to find our own answers to such existential questions.  But along the way, surely it's a good and right thing for us to provide some reassurance to each other. 

 If you, like most of us, could use a little reassurance, you are in good company.  We can all use a little, and we can all provide a little for each other.
