Marlene Taylor's Writing Workshops

Stories have such an enormous potential. When I tell you the story of my life, I don't have to do anything special-just tell the truth of it as I lived it, with all it's ragged edges and loose ends, all the hurtful and the healing bits. When  you tell me your story, I don't have to do anything special, either: just listen and accept and reflect and be amazed. Together, telling and listening, accepting and reflecting, we are changed.

Stories give us our sense of identity; they define our place in the world...That's because stories not only reflect who we are as individuals but also give us ever-changing kaleidoscopic glimpses of what it's like to be a human being.

-Anne Simpkinson

We all have stories and they must be told. In telling our stories we affirm ourselves, our very being, and thereby the purpose of the Creator and our lives.

-Sophy Burnham

Journaling has led me on an evolving journey of discovering who I am. A life long spiritual journey that keeps me on the edge of my potential. A journey to the authentic me. A journey to loving service. Through journaling, I'm learning to let go of my defences, to get more clarity. I'm learning to be more creative, aware and loving. And my journals offer an audit trail that has captured the essence of my growth.

-John Robson

Reflection is one of the most underused yet powerful tools for success.

-Richard Carlson

Good stories have the power to save us...we can all make a difference by simply sharing our stories with real people in real times and places.

-Mary Pipher

Maybe a "journey" is not so much a journey ahead, or a journey into space, but a journey into presence. The farthest place on earth is the journey into the presence of the nearest person to you.

-Nelle Morton

When a woman takes pen in hand to record her inner landscapes personal transformation is inevitable. When the details of that transformation are shared all who read and hear are also called to self-reflection and transformation. As we share our stories we realize that we are not so different after all.

If humanity seeks change for the better we must examine our lives. The writing process offers proven ways to do this. The written journey within not only serves to illuminate our affinity to each other but eventually leads us to God and the realization that we are all one family.

My story, your story, every women's story is important to me. I consider it an honor and a blessing to help you explore writing as an art, pen your story and share it with the world.
